Fall Fashion Capsule: 8 Items, Endless Looks!
playing with leather, suede, animal prints, and patterns!
Hello everyone! Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The weather is gorgeous and the trees are changing colors here in Connecticut! There is nothing better than a beautiful crisp day out here in September and October… going apple picking or just spending time getting lunch and walking about in West Hartford Center! As the weather (finally) gets a little cooler, it’s time to bring out those cozy sweaters, killer denim, and cute boots. I recently went shopping at Nordstrom to update my fall wardrobe a bit. I put together a capsule collection for you all to check out! There are so many looks you can create just from 8 pieces! I basically picked out the cutest stuff thats on trend for this season from fierce animal prints, to playing with neutrals and fun textures like suede and leather.
Most importantly, I went in depth on this post about all the pieces I chose and WHY. I know I will be rewearing these pieces over and over because I can make so many different outfits with them! Thats always what I try to find when purchasing clothing. We love a multi-faceted piece! If you follow me on Instagram then you already know a few of the pieces i’ve been raving about because I just couldn’t wait until I got this post up hahaha! When I love something I just have to share it with you all asap!
OK! Let’s get into the good stuff ;)
For another more casual look, I paired this ATM top with Madewell jeans to amp up the luxuriousness and make a more laidback look. You could jazz this up by pairing this outfit with a great pair of thigh high boots and a bossy jacket. Or you can keep it casual and pair it with cute sneakers and a leather jacket! I’m loving how well these L’Agence denim fit me! A pleasant, but expensive surprise for me haha.
Now I understand what all the rage is about for these ATM t-shirts! They are easily the softest shirt material I’ve ever felt! They are extremely comfortable and easy to wear. This one specifically is cut nicely so it looks casual but cute! If my torso was a bit longer I think this could be a bit cropped on me, so you’d want to size up if you have a long torso and long arms. All I know is that I will be saving all my money to purchase an ATM shirt in the future! A+ for ATM.

The denim I’m wearing above is from Madewell. As you may know from my other posts, I am a huge Madewell denim fan for a couple months now. Shoutout to my mom again, for putting me on to something. Madewell jeans are PERFECT for all kinds of body types. They are so soft, supportive, and slimming. I have curvy legs and a booty and Madewell jeans are stretchy, comfortable, and extremely flattering! They never gap in the back and fit so nicely on the legs (I am 5’5’’ for reference!) - Another thing I loved about these jeans is that the bottom hems at the end of the legs are frayed, which I’m super into this year! I think it’s a great way to spice up / amp up the edginess on any outfit this fall. I can picture wearing these jeans with a great pair of heeled booties. So perfect!
Here is the ATM shirt styled with a dark blue jean from L’Agence:
I love these jeans like wow! I also tried on another pair (a really freakin’ epic leather pair!) but you’ll have to keep reading and you will find out if these expen$$$ive jeans are worth the price and the hype! Shop the look here!
Stepping It Up With A Girly Top
So I changed my top to this cute top by Caslon, which is actually a brand under Nordstrom! Caslon is such a great brand, they sell the cutest blouses and dresses. Caslon is also great because it’s has cute stuff for great prices.
This top helps dress up these L’Agence denim, and the girly ruffles and detailing add a little cuteness to the look instead of looking more chill with the t-shirt from ATM. I’d definitely wear this look to casual Friday at work paired with a brown bootie or leather boots, you can even through in a cool jacket which I actually did (keep reading!!!).
I paired this top with these ULTRA COMFY (I mean amazingly comfy!!) L’Agence jeans. These jeans…OMG…They felt like I was wearing leggings. Now I know why they are at the price point that they are at. I’ve never felt a pair of jeans this comfortable before, I literally thought I could do yoga in them. You can shop this exact look below.
Adding some texture and color!
What are you LOVING for the fall season? Fashion related or not! I’m definitely looking forward to cooler evenings wearing comfy joggers with my slippers, having tea at night while I wind down and watch some tv with my fam. Also, apple picking trip and walking the neighborhood while the trees blow in the wind and the leaves crunch on the ground! THE BEST.
Pictured below is the gorgeous suede jacket, unfortunately this style is sold out in this color. if you want this color still, they also have another style jacket available in this rich burgundy color! It paired nicely with the Caslon top shown above and the L’Agence dark blue denim. I love these pieces because you can layer and mix with many other pieces in your closet during this season. Playing with Patterns and MORE Color!
Now we can really have some fun. I’ve observed that ever since The Lion King remake came out this year, animal print has had a huuuuge refresh in fashion right now. I see tons of shoes, shirts, dresses, skirts all in fun animal prints lately. And I’m certainly not mad about it! I loved this light sweater from Rails that I found at Nordstrom. I purchased this because it fits so nicely and looks great with jeans, but also can be dressed down with a pair of leggings and sneakers after a yoga class or just grabbing coffee! Above I am wearing the top with the Madewell jeans I love so much.
This sweater looked perfect with a pair of faux leather jeans I recently found from an unsuspecting place…White House Black Market! So crazy. I went in looking for work clothes and found these perfect faux leather, vegan pants! I’ve never found a pair of leather jeans I liked until now. They fit like a glove and are soft, comfy, and easy to put on. These feel as soft as the Spanx leather/shiny leggings that are super popular, but I personally didn’t like how those leggings fit my thighs and booty. These jeans fit sooo much better!
P.S. Please ignore how crazy my room looks. This working girl had a crazy week hahaha! Who can relate??
Shop the sweater and both pairs of jeans below!
I linked similar animal print sweaters for you to check out as well.
Here is a closer look at the faux leather jeans from WHBM and a close up shot of the zipper side detailing and pattern of the Rails sweater.
Amp It Up With Sexy Red Leather
Oh my lanta! I’ve been eyeing these red leather jeans for weeks now since seeing them in store. They are just perfection. The L’AGENCE denim jeans are stretchy and comfy, and SO ARE THESE LEATHER ONES! I’m so used to trying to fit my legs into stiff, uncomfortable leather jeans from other brands cause I’ve always wanted a pair. Finally, I’ve found ANOTHER pair of leather pants that actually fit a curvier person like me. Many leather jeans are meant for very slim long legs, and that’s just not me. These red L’AGENCE pants are easy to get on and easy to move in! I am a size 30 in these (typically a 8 or 10 // 29 or 30). They also come in black. I think these are 100000% worth the splurge $$$ because of how well they fit and how insanely hard it is to find a great fitting AND SUPER SOFT pair of leather pants like these.
I paired them with this super soft and comfy sweater from Sanctuary. I’m so glad I bought this sweater because I know I’ll be wearing this will many different looks all fall and winter long. I can even wear this sweater to work!

So edgy, sexy, and cool!
Finally, the final 2 looks feature the Sanctuary sweater paired with the Madewell jeans, and also paired with the leather WHBM jeans for more ways to style these capsule wardrobe items! I’d pair the leather jeans (on the right) with my ballin’ babe gold Gucci loafers to achieve that edgy evening look. You can pair the look on the left with booties or sneakers for a more casual-cool daytime look. Shop it now!
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did creating it. These amazing 8 items can create AT LEAST 10 looks but I found at least 16 looks using them all in different ways. I am thrilled with the new pieces I found and look forward to wearing these looks out this fall. And you can definitely expect many posts about each of them going forward! Which pieces and looks are your favorite?
